Final Curtain
I turned in my letter of resignation today. I’m too close now, and the hurt won’t go away if I stay.
I hugged Kellie a long, tearful goodbye. She is being much stronger than I could be, especially as a seventeen year old.
I played with Kayden one last time, and gave him my keychain he likes to play with. He has been all over and every where, and I don’t think he even begins to grasp what is happening.
Mrs. Ward hardly looked up when I handed her my letter. She wordlessly gave me two months advance pay today, before I left.
Against all reasoning, I have decided to move in with Travis. I told him explicitly we are just friends and roommates right now. He seems to be ok with that and understand.
I’m looking in the classifieds for waitressing jobs.
And I’m taking a break from this blog. It chronicled a story I did not foresee happening. But when I am ready to start a new chapter, I will let you know.

I Don’t Even
I just, I don’t even know where to begin.
Poor poor Jeremy. And Kayden. And Kellie. And Mrs. Ward.
I mean, his opera did not go well. It didn’t. And he was under a lot of pressure. And being pulled in many different directions, all at once.
He killed himself. He hung himself the second night of his opera.
And I never got the chance to tell him the truth.
Stars In My Eyes Tonight
Jeremy looks really really good tonight.
He has a custom tailored tuxedo on that emphasizes all the right spots, and he exudes both classiness and confidence.
But I know Jeremy, and he is also a bundle of nerves. He is currently alternating between shredding napkins to bits and swigging scotch. He inexplicably touches his belt a lot too.
Mrs. Ward is wearing a glittery couture gown, and grimaces every time she walks by a reflective surface.
I have brought a corsage for Kellie, and hung a little flower of Kayden’s shirt, before deciding the safety pin was too dangerous for the curious toddler and put it on top of his dresser.
Tonight is the big night, in a lot of ways. It is opening night for Jeremy, and this could really make or break his career.
I’ve also decided that I am going to tell Jeremy how I feel. Lay it all out on the table. I have planned to take him out for a congratulatory gelato, and feeling out what he feels.
I have never felt so nervous in my life.
